Delete Your Account
How to request deletion of your BookMyScrims account and the data attached to it.
Delete it yourself, right now
If you can still sign in, you don't need to email anyone. Open your profile and use Delete my account — it removes your phone number, team details and sign-in immediately.
Can't sign in? Request it by email instead
Step 1 — Email us
Send a message to bookmyscrimsindia@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account".
Step 2 — Identify yourself
Include the phone number registered on your BookMyScrims account and your team name. We reply with a one-time code over WhatsApp to confirm the request came from you.
Step 3 — We process it
Once verified, your account is deleted within 30 days and we email you a confirmation. You can cancel any time before deletion completes by replying to the same thread.
Data That Is Deleted
When your deletion request completes, the following are permanently removed:
- Account data — your phone number and hashed password.
- Profile data — team name, in-game name, and profile details.
- Chat messages you sent in match rooms.
- Ratings and reviews you left for organizers.
- Saved organizers and push notification subscriptions.
Data That Is Kept
A small amount of competition history is retained in anonymised form, with every identifier removed so it can no longer be linked back to you:
- Match results and leaderboard placements — so past scrim standings for an organizer's community stay accurate for the other teams that competed.
- XP ledger entries — so an organizer's historical XP totals remain balanced.
XP Coins are virtual participation points with no monetary value. They cannot be purchased, withdrawn, or exchanged for money, so no financial settlement is involved in deleting an account.
Retention Periods
- Account and profile data — deleted within 30 days of a verified request.
- Encrypted backups — overwritten on a rolling 90-day cycle, after which no copy of your data remains.
- Server logs (IP address, request paths, timestamps) — retained up to 30 days for security and debugging, then discarded.
- Anonymised competition records — retained indefinitely, as they no longer identify you.
Deleting Data Without Deleting Your Account
If you only want to remove specific information rather than close your account, you can edit your team name and profile details at any time from your profile page, or email bookmyscrimsindia@gmail.com to request removal of particular records.
Organizer Accounts
If you run scrims as an organizer, deleting your account also removes your organizer profile from discovery. Scrims you have already hosted keep their anonymised results so participating teams retain their history. Please close or cancel any upcoming scrims before requesting deletion.
